A seemingly apologetic Gov. Rick Snyder on Tuesday promised to release e-mails related to the Flint water crisis this morning but has failed to deliver.

Snyder’s office told Motor City Muckraker today that the emails will not be released in the morning as promised by the governor during the State of the State.

It’s unclear what caused the delay, but his office said the emails will be released sometime later today.

Snyder pledged to release all water-related e-mails from 2014 and 2015 and post them on his government website.

“It’s simply not enough to release handpicked emails that tell the public only what Gov. Snyder wants them to know about the poisoning of Flint’s water,” said Melanie McElroy, executive director of Common Cause Michigan. “That’s not accountability. It’s time to do what they they do in 48 other states – apply the Freedom of Information Act to the Governor’s office so we can get answers of what happened in Flint.

We will not stop pressuring the Governor to apply this most basic of anti-corruption measures to his office.”
